While reading one of my favorite blogs, Cats Who Code, I noticed my friend Jean-Baptiste Jung has written about just how powerful guest blogging is with his post How I got Over 1,000 Subscribers in Under 2 Months.

His post credits his guest post over at WordPress Hacks for getting him started. That post got him the exposure he needed to in turn be discovered by several major websites, creating even more exposure and traffic/subscribers. Most recently, JBJ submitted a guest post to Smashing Magazine, which helped him to break that mark.

I have to say that Jean has done a great job, but the biggest part of his success is the quality of his work. The guest posts only helped targeted traffic to discover his content.
