Welcome everyone to WPForums.com, the unofficial WordPress forums (http://wpforums.com/)!

We've got a lot of exciting plans for this forums, but a forum is only as good as its community so we appreciate your participation.

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Congrats on the launch. Knowing you and your site, I can only foresee good things for this forum. I honestly can't see how it could fail.
Just the other day I was thinking how there are no really good Wordpress forums out there. The official forums seem so...dead. I ask a question and just wish for a response within 2 days.
Anyway, good luck, don't screw this up ;)

Thanks for the forums. As I said in another thread, I have just recently started venturing into using Wordpress. Resorting to Google searches for information and techniques on how to do things can be very frustrating at times since a lot of top results refer to Wordpress in 2004 or 2005. Always have to dig deeper to find more current information. I have found a few sites like wphacks.com and wprecipes.com as a result of searches and subsequent links but have always felt more at home in forums. I have been using forums for over 10 years now and managing and support them for the last 10 years, including a 3 year stint as the forum administrator at Sitepoint.com and 8 years with Jelsoft.

Anyway, looking forward to getting up to date information and participating in the community.

Wayne, that is sweet! I didn't know you worked for Sitepoint.

I've used Sitepoint to flip domains for a few years now and really enjoy the service they provide. I think there is room for improvement from a domainers perspective, but they help me find buyers/sellers. :)

I worked for them from 1999 to 2002. I started when it was called Webmaster Resources. I worked primarily in the forums. I have to admit that I am kind of proud that many of the things that I helped implement for their community back then are still in place now including the forum staff structure, forum sponsorship overall organization, community guidelines, the community newsletter and what eventually became the marketplace. All the ideas have been improved over the years but I was there at the start.

My user name on there is Hierophant as I had it changed after I left the company to lower confusion with the new administrators.

Are you named after a level 55-60 Druid? :D

Or just a coincidence?

Good Luck to you Kyle for this new venture. As Ralph mentioned, even I don't see any reason for this to fail too.
I'm sure it will be a good community and I plan to visit here often too!

Thanks Mayank! It will likely take awhile to get off the ground, but I'm okay with that.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you become a regular!

Great start.
I'm sure to enjoy and savour.

It's been a while, since I'm active at a forum.
I was bored of the usual forums.
I was so excited and happy to see this and straightaway joined.

How true is the saying, "Early Bird Gets the UserName" !!
I was lucky to get my first name as my Username.

Cheers from India !!
Let's move forward.

@ Aravind - Thanks for stopping by! Hope you choose to stop back regularly.

Yes, I think blogs have really lowered peoples desire to use forums, but forums still have a strong place on the internet. I like how you can "bump" old topics. If you leave a comment on an older post on a blog it will probably never be seen, etc.

Exactly. And in a blog you can't start topics, except if you're the author.

As for developer is concerned forums great tools by which he/she can get solutions to his problems, where as blog will have single point of view, the same in topic in forum will have different views and counter solution for single topic.

I feel both are different streams and each one of them have their own weights.
